Coco Bongo in Punta Cana: acrobatics, tribute acts, and an open-bar nightclub
All prices and times on this page are ESTIMATES and change often. They are a starting point from an independent editor, never official or guaranteed figures. Always check the final price and the opening hours with the official venue or operator before you book or travel.
What exactly is Coco Bongo?
Coco Bongo is a show with acrobats, dancers, musical tributes, confetti, and lights that, at some point in the night, turns into a nightclub. The ticket includes entry and an open bar: rum, vodka, beer, and soft drinks while the event lasts. It is not a regular nightclub. It is designed to keep you looking at the stage and then suddenly make you dance.
The production is big. There are aerial silks, jumps, costumes, foam, and champagne flying around. The performers come down to the floor and the crowd joins in. If you have seen videos, the real night is just as intense, but longer and louder. There are tributes to famous artists, and sections where the acrobat is the main act, not the background music.
What time do you need to be inside?
The time you arrive is as important as the ticket itself. On my visits, the entrance starts to fill between 20:30 and 21:00, and the main show starts around 21:30. If you go in at 23:00, you miss the first part and walk in when the place is already a nightclub. To see the full show, get inside before 21:00.
You have to pass through security. On high-season nights the line backs up, so don't plan to arrive at the last minute. Better to wait inside with a drink than stand outside watching the line move.
Is it worth it?
It depends on what you're looking for. If you like visual shows, acrobatics, and dancing to loud music, yes. This is one of the most polished productions in the area, and the included bar makes the ticket price easier to justify. The skip-the-line ticket costs from around 170 USD and saves you the worst part: the outside line.
The price is scary if you only think of it as a nightclub. But it's not a nightclub: it's a show that mixes acrobatics, choreography, and musical tributes. The open bar is designed so you don't waste time paying drink by drink.
Who won't like it at all: people who want to chat, people who hate crowds, and people expecting a concert with live music. This is a show of lights and dancing with a nightclub behind it. It's also a bad idea if you get overwhelmed by the noise or by people pushing at the bar.
Practical details: getting there, prices, and what to bring
Coco Bongo is in the Bávaro area, a few minutes by car from most Punta Cana resorts. The normal way is to take the hotel shuttle or a taxi. You don't need to rent a car for this night.
The ticket I checked is the skip-the-line option: from around 170 USD per person. That's the one I recommend if you can afford it, because in high season the outside line is long and the difference shows. If you know the date, book ahead. There may be more basic options, but I won't give you a figure because I haven't checked it.
Prices were checked in August 2026.
The night lasts about 3-4 hours from entry to exit. Bring your passport or an official ID, cash for tips, and closed-toe shoes. The floor gets sticky and slippery from alcohol and confetti. Don't bring a big camera or anything you don't want to lose.
Watch out for this
The open bar invites you to drink more than you should, and the show, the noise, and the hours on your feet do the rest. I've seen more than one night end with someone feeling sick in a corner. Pace yourself and set a fixed meeting point with your group: finding someone inside with that noise and crowd is not easy.
